Refund Policy

1. Overview

This Refund Policy applies to all purchases made through the Som application and website (the "Service"), including Monthly and Annual subscriptions. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this policy.

2. Free Trial Period

Som provides all new users with three (3) complimentary AI sommelier scans at no cost. This trial period allows you to evaluate the Service's core functionality — including label scanning, AI sommelier consultations, critic scores, drink window assessments, and market pricing — before making any purchase decision. We strongly encourage you to make full use of these complimentary scans before subscribing.

3. No-Refund Policy

All purchases are final and non-refundable. Once your three (3) complimentary scans have been consumed and a paid subscription has been purchased, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances, except as required by applicable law. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Partial-period refunds for unused time on Monthly or Annual subscriptions
  • Pro-rata refunds for early cancellation
  • Refunds for unused features or functionality
  • Refunds for dissatisfaction with AI-generated content, scores, or recommendations
  • Refunds due to changes in features, pricing, or Service availability

4. Subscription Cancellation

You may cancel your Monthly or Annual subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:

  • Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period
  • You will retain full access to all paid features until the billing period expires
  • No further charges will be applied after cancellation takes effect
  • No refund will be issued for the remaining time in the current billing period

5. Chargebacks and Disputes

If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or payment provider after completing a purchase, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service. We will cooperate with payment processors to resolve disputes and may provide evidence of your agreement to this Refund Policy and your use of the Service.

6. Exceptions Required by Law

Notwithstanding the foregoing, if applicable law in your jurisdiction requires that refunds be provided under certain circumstances (for example, consumer protection laws in the European Union, Australia, or certain U.S. states), we will comply with such requirements to the minimum extent mandated by law. To request a legally mandated refund, please contact us with your order details and a citation to the applicable law.

7. Billing Errors

If you believe you have been charged in error (for example, a duplicate charge or a charge after successful cancellation), please contact us within thirty (30) days of the charge. We will investigate and, if a billing error is confirmed, issue a correction or credit as appropriate.
